Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effect of alendronate on postoperative fracture healing in patients with osteoporotic fracture (OPF) based on meta-analysis. Methods Randomized controlled trials concerning the effect of alendronate on postoperative fracture healing in patients with OPF were retrieved from CNKI, Wanfang Database, VIP Database, PubMed and other databases from database establishment to March 2026. Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.3 software. Results A total of 9 studies involving 933 patients were included, among whom 470 patients were assigned to the observation group. Meta-analysis results demonstrated that the fracture healing time in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group (SMD=-1.34, 95%CI: ?2.23- ?0.46, P=0.003), bone mineral density after treatment was higher compared with the control group (SMD=0.73, 95%CI: 0.44-1.02, P<0.001), the anterior vertebral height of the injured vertebra after treatment was greater in the observation group (SMD=0.90, 95%CI: 0.50-1.30, P< 0.001), the Cobb angle after treatment in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (MD=?2.66, 95%CI: ?3.59- ?1.73, P=0.003). Conclusion Alendronate can effectively shorten postoperative fracture healing time of patients with OPF, increase bone mineral density, improve the anterior height of injured vertebrae and reduce Cobb angle, and exerts a positive effect on facilitating fracture healing.
