Evaluation of the application effect of artificial intelligence-assisted case teaching in clinical internship teaching of neurosurgery

    目的 探讨人工智能(artificial intelligence,AI)辅助案例教学在神经外科临床实习教学中的应用效果,为优化神经外科实习教学模式、提升实习质量提供实践依据。方法 选取2024年1月至2024年12月在华中科技大学同济医学院附属同济医院神经外科实习的五年制临床医学专业33名学生为研究对象,归为对照组;将2025年1月至2025年12月在华中科技大学同济医学院附属同济医院神经外科实习的五年制临床医学专业33名学生纳入观察组。对照组采用传统临床实习教学模式,观察组采用AI辅助案例教学模式。实习结束后,对比两组实习医师的理论考核、临床操作技能、病例分析能力成绩,评估教学满意度、自主学习能力提升情况。结果 观察组理论考核(88.62±4.35)分、临床操作技能(89.15±3.87)分、病例分析能力(87.94±4.12)分,均显著高于对照组(80.25±5.18)分、(81.36±4.52)分、(79.88±4.69)分,差异均有统计学意义(均P<0.05)。观察组教学满意度(94.12%)、自主学习能力提升率(97.06%),均显著高于对照组(75.76%)、(72.73%)(均P<0.05)。结论 AI辅助案例教学在神经外科临床实习教学中应用效果显著,可有效提升实习医师综合临床能力、自主学习能力及教学满意度,是一种高效可行的教学模式,值得推广应用。

    Abstract:

    Objective To explore the application effects of artificial intelligence (AI) -assisted case teaching in neurosurgery clinical internship teaching, and to provide practical evidence for optimizing the neurosurgery internship teaching model and improving the quality of internship. Methods Thirty-three students majoring in clinical medicine who were enrolled in the five-year program and interned in the neurosurgery department of Tongji Hospital affiliated to Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology from January 2024 to December 2024 were selected as the control group. Another thirty-three majoring in clinical medicine who were enrolled in the five-year program and interned in the neurosurgery department of Tongji Hospital affiliated to Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology from January 2025 to December 2025 were selected as the observation group. The control group adopted the traditional clinical internship teaching model, while the observation group adopted the AI-assisted case teaching model. After the internship, the theoretical assessment, clinical operation skills, and case analysis ability scores of the interns in both groups were compared, and teaching satisfaction and improvement in autonomous learning ability were evaluated. Results The theoretical assessment (88.62±4.35), clinical operation skills (89.15±3.87), and case analysis ability (87.94±4.12) scores of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group (80.25±5.18), (81.36±4.52), and (79.88±4.69), respectively (all P<0.05). The teaching satisfaction (94.12%) and improvement rate in autonomous learning ability (97.06%) in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (75.76%), (72.73%), respectively (all P<0.05). Conclusion The application of artificial intelligence-assisted case teaching in neurosurgery clinical internship teaching has achieved remarkable results. It can effectively enhance the comprehensive clinical abilities, autonomous learning abilities, and teaching satisfaction of interns. It is an efficient and feasible teaching mode, worthy of promotion and application.
